Hey everyone, welcome back to Shaman Radio. This is Shaman John, and I wanted to share with you today a little more insights that I've had recently, particularly about the Catholic Church, and just want to emphasize you know, these are strictly my experiences and just things that I've learned over the decades. And I want I just enjoy sharing them with you. So I hope you enjoyed. I recently, you know, published an article about how my Carol Shaman is so similar in many ways to the Catholic Mass. And I've published the book Common Threads, A Search for Universal Truths, with a supporting website and web-based app, and previously published an amazing web-based life coach app that I, you know, that answers perspectives from the Catholic priests with supporting answers from very other various other sources called the Veritas Life Guide. And I like all those insights. I just want to share some major insights that I have come from some questions people have had. And I can't tell you how many times, for example, that I've done multiple sessions with clients over time. And then they say something like, Oh, I think I was born with these gifts as well. And I go, Oh, yes, of course. It's obvious. You know, and I think the reason being is that I really don't jump to conclusions quickly because I make it a point to stay really open to what, you know, I don't know. And uh basically, you know, like hummus, you know, which is the base word for true humility. It's kind of always open and airy no matter what. And I tend to be so focused on channeling um what it what it is at hand that my brain doesn't often get too involved, you know, and therefore usually in the way. So it does doesn't always register and except when something really profound comes through and I hear it too and go, oh, that was good. I have to write that down, you know. So that's how I kind of tend to operate. I kind of I kind of pick it up a little bit a bit late. But um, when I do, uh I I like to share it. So, you know, this is where most of my blog articles and YouTube videos um have come from, you know, just things that I've gotten from sessions and stuff, and I go, oh, I gotta share that. So and on this, on that same note, I'm also keenly aware that there's always more to learn. And I'm I'm doing a lot of that on my Shaman Radio podcast. So I love having people on and it, you know, elicits a lot of conversation and and uh and and insights that way too. So definitely please let me know if you ever want to come on the show and share your wisdom. In any case, when it comes to these latest revelations, uh slow on the uptake has taken on a whole new scale, like about 44 years or more. That's how long it has taken me after walking away from my Catholic upbringing and studying and practicing virtually every other tradition, you know, that I could get my hands on, including almost 30 years of karoshamanism, you know, that I was initiated and taught in the in the Andes and the Amazon of Peru and and other forms of shamanism in the Americas as well. But really it allowed me to fold, you know, and that allowed me to fold everything I ever learned in. So I just thought it was, you know, it's amazing. And it and it is. I still do that work, I still enjoy it. The results are are extremely powerful. Um, you know, uh in this, you know, in this talk, uh I basically wanted to cover an important perspective that can explain more completely why and how I could be so enthusiastically returning uh to Catholicism in particular. Um so here goes. Here's the deal. Uh basically, after 50 plus years of experience as a very sensitive seer and now practicing shaman, shamanic energy medicine healer and teacher, I clearly see the battle between the benevolent and malevolent that has been and is still taking place on Earth, at least. And it brings in something I've said often that as much as you see happening in the physical, there this and probably much more is happening in the non-physical. So it's very complex. And, you know, I will focus essentially on the concept of war and battle for this article, this talk. Um, most basically, um, and and more often than not, there's usually, you know, in any kind of battle, a side that wants to take stuff, and the other side is trying to defend their stuff, be it land, water, riches, resources, um, even people sometimes. And of course, it can get really complicated with third or multiple parties involved, either as allies or also trying to get stuff. And, you know, what's very clear to me now, both in my own personal experience and, like I said, decades of observation, is that there is a non-physical slash spiritual battle as well on Earth, at least that is fundamentally between souls sided with God, the source, versus an army of demons, essentially. There's a lot of different names for it, you know, dark forces, dark entities, uh, devils, whatever, um, of all sorts. And they, you know, and that's basically just to choose one common word so I can carry on with this. But it lead, they're led by an adversary that's also known by a bunch of names, but let's just use Lucifer, right? The the fallen angel that wanted to uh challenge God to make a better world, if you will. Thought he could do better. Um, and I know this all sounds a bit cliche, but you know, for me it's been very, very real. For me and a lot of clients and just a ton of people I I've worked with, you know. Um and, you know, they're they're in a fundamental battle, essentially for each of our very souls, our luminous energy field and the shamanic traditions, the kind of essential core of who you are, and it and that makes us distinctly ourselves, and which provides us with the experiences of life and afterlife, as well as our projected next evolution, known by my Caro teachers as homo luminous, beings of light, from Homo sapiens to homoluminous, and by Catholics and all Christians as our glorified body, which is essentially also more light than physical, and and therefore an eternal life. And we call it uh dying consciously and um and basically, you know, in the in the Christian tradition, I used to get confused and you say, well, Jesus is going to come back to judge the living and the dead or raise the dead, or something like that. And it's like, oh, that would be very messy in our physical bodies. Um, but uh now I've learned because I'm constantly learning new stuff, uh, that um that that that resurrected body is actually a homo luminous. It's it's a body of light. And it and it was just exactly like Jesus' resurrected body. And also his promise, you know, to do this for all of us if we believe in him and follow his doctrine, you know, which turns out to be very similar to what the Carol Shaman sessions were designed, you know, to help us achieve, as I've outlined in my previous article. So the battle between benevolent, malevolent, demonic forces is not new either. Many cultures dating back as far as 5000 B.C. and even farther, you know, have left records and stories of great rituals used to ward off, protect from, and battle, you know, these dark forces. You know, while the Judeo-Christian accounts go back roughly 5,800 years to 3761 BC, it really all started well before then. You know, even the even the Cairo tradition uh uh oral history goes back 15,000 years. So anyway, but time is you know, it's also a variable. So how people look at time was is different potentially. Um but here's the really interesting insight from this concept of the great battle for our souls. Basically, it's that the army of demons just want to take and live off the energy of our souls and do everything possible to make us more vulnerable and easy targets for that. And we humans are mostly clueless about it, instead, mostly blaming each other for all the difficulties we have and things like that. And so they are literally set up like a very well-organized army with Lucifer as the kind of king, and then various levels of generals and colonels and majors, captains, lieutenants, sergeants, corporals, and privates. Uh, they even, you know, have their version of spies and scouts, you know, for for propaganda and subterfuge. Um, and again, as above, so below. So, as in the physical, so in the non-physical. So it's not surprising. A lot of the stuff we see on the planet is essentially a mirror of the way it's organized in the nonphysical. Um one very effective part of their tactics, and this is something I've talked about in many talks, is to convince various humans and groups of humans to go after each other, right? To, you know, while essentially they pick away at our real treasure, which is our soul's energy. And then the biggest tactic that I have spoken about often is to get you to go after yourself through guilt, shame, doubt, self-judgment, and ultimately, you know, even leading often to suicide, right? And whatever, whatever form or duration, because this makes our soul almost impossible to defend. No amount of protection around us matters when we have any guilt, shame, doubt, self-judgment. That basically gets opened up and it's uh kind of a free lunch for for the um demonic energies, if you will. So in comes Jesus and the Catholic Church to our rescue. Okay. And, you know, again, it's my opinion, not saying it's the only way or the only thing, but you know, it's it's where I've landed on after after all these years. So um as I've talked about often, Jesus came to show us the way to win the battle and become glorified with our eternal souls to, you know, to sacrifice his life and body to give us a very effective way of avoiding the most important thing to win the battle, which is, you know, forgiving our sins so we don't have guilt, shame, self-judgment, and doubt. And to promise that he will be with us every step of the way to help us get ourselves as clear and prepared as we can be in this lifetime and after, you know, to ultimately get to our glorified homouminous state, right, as sons and daughters of God just like him. And of course, it it behooves us to try as hard as we can to be impeccable in our behaviors towards one another, to also avoid guilt and shame in the first place, right? So that's why that's why the golden rule, right? It's it's you know, just to be kind and loving, do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and there's a pretty good chance, you know, you won't have a lot of reason to have to try to be forgiven or forgive yourself for your mistakes. Uh so you know, everything we can do to help with that, you know, all other practices that support that impeccability are great in my book. You know, for example, prayer, meditation, yoga, shamanic healing, psychology, all manner of wisdom teachings, all things to support our good behavior and well-being are extremely helpful. And of course, this is all also available from the teachings of Jesus, um, Jesus directly, the Bible, and the Catholic Church, you know, and all the angels and saints and and and uh beings associated with that. So Jesus also set up the church by initiating his apostles with breath, which I find extremely interesting, um, because in Aramaic, uh the word that we've translated as spirit is actually breath in in the exact translation. So when we think of the Holy Spirit, it's actually breath. Just and it's just like my Karol Shamans do, by the way. We use our breath to move energies and to clear and to pray and to change our neurobiology and stuff and our perspective. So, you know, and um so you know, gee Jesus not only set up the church, right, he did it with using the breath, and he also, you know, set it up in a way that's in the structure of an army, essentially to to equally match and fight Lucifer's army. I mean, it sort of makes sense. Um and and on a side note, the word Catholic, right? So Jesus didn't call a church Catholic, he called it the church, but Catholic was added to this in you know, to the church and and to the to this same church Jesus created in in 110 A.D., essentially to distinguish it as the universal umbrella of the various small local Christian congregations that are that were spread all over the world at the time. So Catholic comes from the Greek words kata, which is about, and holos, the whole. So about the whole. Um, and part of part of Jesus' saving presence uh as purely God in the flesh was to organize humanity into essentially an army to defend itself, you know, with the help of nonphysical militants like the angels and saints, led by none other than Lucifer's most feared adversary, the Virgin Mary, Jesus' mother, who is said to have been Eve and Sophia, and also known in many other traditions as Hothor and a bunch of other famous and fierce women throughout the ages and today, and still shows up. I think I've shared with you, you know, this Chris Bledsoe who is a fascinating character, and the lady who he recognizes as Mary is the one who's who's telling him all kinds of stuff. But um and here's something else that's truly amazing. Essentially, when Lucifer declared war on humanity, he specifically declared it against women, starting with Eve, basically, according to the Bible. Reason being, I believe, is that humanity is, of course, entirely dependent on women, given, you know, they birth us, in my opinion, make better decisions for our survival at large. And so, you know, basically, if Lucifer and the demon army can succeed in taking out women, then we're so this is where it gets really good. Even the Catholic Church breaks down its members into three groups. Um, the church militant, the souls here on earth, us, uh, the church suffering, the souls in purgatory, getting, you know, purified, healed, and cleared essentially, as if in a triage or a hospital in the field of battle. And then the church triumphant, which are the saints and angels who've made it to the glorified state, and are available to help us militant. Okay. So let me uh, you know, continue to break down the analogy of the Catholic Army for you this way to really make my personal revelation about it, you know, clear, um, as if I'm the first one to figure this out, which not. Okay, but you know, I'm I'm sharing it from my perspective. So starting with God and Jesus as the king essentially and prince, or, you know, a version of the king in in both uh the absolute and in flesh incarnate. And then there's several layers of of the triumphant. And, you know, this is all very fascinating to me because I'm just learning a lot of this stuff, and I'll share the book with you, a couple of books with you that I have found extremely helpful and and and good and really inspirational for me getting into this. But basically, the several layers of the triumphant in in that state, that sort of heavenly state of glorified, you know, homo luminous, um, they include the serif, the seraphim, the cherubim, the the thrones, dominions, virtues, powers, principalities, archangels, angels, and saints, and and uh and they each have different roles, but then that following that is the earthly militant, right? Um and that starts with basically the Pope, who's the commander-in-chief, essentially. You know, he holds the absolute authority over all the theaters of operation and policy. The joint chiefs of staff are the College of Cardinals. They advise the commander-in-chief and elect his successor, right? Um, then you've got the theater commanders and generals, which are basically the archbishops and bishops, and they command specific geographic fronts known as uh the archdioceses or dioceses. Then you have field officers, who are the colonels and majors, and these are the monsignors or deans. And these are senior officers, essentially overseeing specific regions of administrative tasks within a diocese. Then you have the company commanders, which are the captains, essentially, they're the pastors, they're the priests in charge of a parish. Um, they are the primary officers responsible for the troops on the ground. So they're kind of the, you know, the priests are not exactly the most glorified position. They're a very challenging position. It's like the grunts, you know. And then you have the junior officers, lieutenants that are kind of the what they call the parochial vicars, who are the assistant priests. They carry out day-to-day operations under the pastor. And then you have the non-commissioned officers, which are the sergeants and the deacons. They're they they're the deacons. They bridge the gap between the officers and the enlisted, focusing on service and tactical support. And then you have the frontline troops, and that's the laity, that's the laypeople, that's the people like me who just go to church, go to mass, uh, you know, uh once a week on Sunday, if you will. Um and we're kind of like the enlisted members, right? Who execute the mission here in the secular world. And uh, you know, so, you know, when you join the church, it's not just like joining a spiritual thing or religion, just to kind of make your life a little bit better. You're basically signing up uh in, you know, in the military for battle against a broad army of of uh of sort of demonic forces. So it gets very interesting.
SPEAKER_00I I just think this is huge. It's a huge revelation, at least for me. And this is also why when you join the church, even as laity, you know, like me, there are what seems like strict rules and protocols.
SPEAKER_01You always wonder, why so strict? Why do they say if you don't go to mass, you know, it's a sin and this and that? It's like, okay. Words, you know, words could be better, could be taught better, in my opinion. But basically, just like in the military, you can't just decide that you don't want to fight today, or you want to just leave boot camp, you know, and maybe come back in a few days, right? Like it wouldn't work in the military very well at all, you know, and and you have to kind of conform and you have to kind of do what everyone else does. You can't just have, you know, people running around. So it makes sense why, you know, there's some regimentation involved in order for the army and its members to stay strong, you know, protect humanity from the demon army and ultimately win the battle, you know, like it's not just about you and your soul. You know, we need to fight together cohesively to win as a whole and and therefore also individually. So, you know, one soldier winning, you know, does not win the war. It must be one for all and all for one. And do-it-yourself, D I Y, can only get anyone so far. And trust me, I know. Like I've been a do-it-yourself guy my whole life, whether it's like rebuilding my car or fixing anything in the house or, you know, all my spiritual stuff. It's, you know, I've anything I've ever done, tried to do it myself, and I could have used some, I definitely could have used some help in hindsight, uh, would have would have made things a lot easier. Anyway, you know, so, you know, in in in addition, you know, to recognizing the extent of the battle we face and wanting to join the biggest and main army to fight with that, you know, I am familiar with, and believing that, you know, Jesus is who he is and did what he did for the reason stated, including creating the church, I personally find it, you know, a highly effective and efficient way to get to home illuminists and improve also day-to-day life, you know, quality of life for me and for everyone else in the meantime. So, you know, for me, it's like getting a cleansing shaman session every week or every day, you know, uh uh, you know, or, you know, so attending, you know, Catholic Mass when you understand and participate correctly in each element is an amazing clearing. You know, it's amazing a clearing and empowering the soul and the subconscious and conscious, you know, conscious mind, you know, but here it's not just for your quality of life, but essentially for the overall evolution of Homo Luminous well beyond this life, and not just for yourself, but you know, for for all of humanity, which is, you know, I think is super important to get. And I'm going to share with you a book at the end of this that really helped me understand what was going on in the Catholic mass, like I'd never understood before and, you know, wasn't taught when I was a kid or just didn't get it, or the teaching wasn't that good, whatever. Now, you know, with internet and things like my Very Toss Life Guide app and these books, and, you know, you could just ask any of the AIs, you know, what goes on, what to do, and you it is, you know, it just makes it a lot easier to get the most out of it. Um, you know, and I and just to kind of emphasize that point about the importance of community and not just do it yourself and not just your own quality of life, but you know, my own Caro shaman teachers, right? When they when they greet you or they greet each other, they ask, I ean you, which means how does your village live within you? So it's not how are you? They say you're only as good basically as your village. So you could be the best doing the best in the village, but you know, you kind of want to lift everybody up to be doing really well. And that makes a lot of sense to me. This this reflects, you know, that it basically would be kind of lonely to be the only one that is doing well, or even become home illuminous. You know, and and in fact, you know, we are defined by our relationships with everyone else, essentially. So it's it's kind of a big deal. Belonging to and caring about the community and reach of the Catholic Universal Church makes, you know, a lot of sense to me. And uh it helps me experience it directly in ritual, right? Like in something I do, plan to do as a priority at least once a week. Um, and that matters. This sort of repetition really, really helps. Get your mind out of the way and let you really drop in. Um, you know, the Catholic Church is also like particularly open and accepting and welcoming of other religions and traditions, you know, including philosophy and science. And hey, I always appreciate that. You know, I don't think it's ever necessary to put anything else down in order to lift, lift yourself up. Um, you know. So, you know, it it it kind of led me to one other question of why the church is, you know, so strict though about occult practices like psychics and tarot and neck necromancy and all that kind of stuff, you know, because that's a sticky subject, especially for a shaman, right? Who's done things, written books. Like I use these tools, um, and I'm very familiar with them, right? Um but here's what I realized, and let me explain it sort of this way, you know. Essentially, just like in the military, right? The the church finds it most effective just to make uniform and sweeping rules based on the Bible to avoid confusion in the ranks and stay strong in the battle. You know, while a few soldiers might be able to handle bending the rules without detriment, there are some that just couldn't. And it gets confusing if you have a set of rules for one and not for others. And this was the same in my shaman training. Like anywhere you go, there's a baseline of rules in order not to have chaos, right? So, you know, and and I like to think, you know, for example, a good example, you know, good analogy is like just because someone might be particularly skilled, like uh uh what's the the like Le Mans race car driver, right? Who's been super well trained in driving, you know, might be able to multitask effectively while they're driving. You know, maybe you could text and drive at the same high level and not get in trouble, right? But you know, most people can't do that. Okay. Most people just look on the road, right? Can't continue to drive and text without swerving or slowing down too much or whatever. So, you know, when it comes to rules like that, it's like uh just don't do it, right? Um you're gonna get a ticket or you're gonna, you know, you're gonna uh get dinged for it in some way, right? And uh basically, and when it comes to these esoteric occult practices, if you will, um it's you know some of the rules like not messing around with opening portals, right? That that can make it very easy for the army of demons to get in and do their trickery and take advantage. Right. Um, and and if you're well trained, you can have some level of discernment, right? You could you could do you could use a tarot card to do some tracking or whatever, but you know to make sure that, you know, nothing nothing can get in that's bad. And if you're good enough at holding space, you can keep that from happening, and you can use a certain level of discernment to know that the information you're getting is from the good side. But it's you know, this is like not, it's kind of navy seals level stuff on the spiritual level. It's not not something to take lightly. Um so you know, you need a certain level of discernment and protection to not have that go sideways, you know? And so the church just says, don't do it. You know, like we're not gonna try to nuance the the differences here. Just it's better you just don't mess with it. And we've heard of, you know, like Ouija boards, man, you know, it brings in demons that are like mess with a family for generations, stuff like that. So it's not like this is all made up, like there's some real experiences here. You know, and frankly, as a as a shaman, you know, specializing in traveling through these rips in time and space, you know, to facilitate a healing and, you know, including extractions, which are like, you know, exorcism light. You know, me and my teachers agree that for the most part, it's best that most people don't do it or get involved with it. However, you know, with sufficient high level and intense training, you know, proper intent, freeing and empowering individuals and not distracting them from the overall goal of life as set forth by Jesus and the church through the Bible, you know, keeping them firmly rooted in God's army rather than disempowering and distracting simply for some comfort or entertainment, you know, and confusing them as to which side they're on and potentially weaken their protection from Jesus, the angels, the saints, and Mary, the A-team. You know, some people, like I said, can get away with it treading there, but you know, this is again like Navy SEAL stuff, it's best you don't. So I can see very clearly, you know, why, given all those variables and consequences, you know, a just don't do it is essentially smart for the individual and the community at large. And of course, the church recognizes our fundamental challenges and following rules, including those we set for ourselves, you know, and does a beautiful job of not judging, believe it or not. Like, you know, essentially through the sacrament of reconciliation, providing a process to continually own and confess our mistakes and be forgiven and try to do better. And, you know, we used to there's this whole stigma about guilt and the church. And it's like, I think that's a misunderstanding for the most part, because these strict rules are set to try and make people follow them as best they can. And I, it depends on the priest, depends on who you're talking to. You know, it could, it could make you feel guilty for doing it, or the opposite. You go, okay, I know nobody's perfect, and I know I'm not perfect. And I've come to get any guilt, shame, doubt, fear, self-judgment, whatever shed from me in this process of reconciliation. So thank you, priest, for doing this. I'm gonna tell you what I did. You're gonna clear it. I'm gonna do the best I can this week. I'll be back next week. And every Mass, the beginning of the Mass is without having to go to confession, is also that process. Like there's specific steps in the Mass, just like in our shaman sessions that you followed, that like make perfect sense and are like really dialed. And and I'm gonna show you that book um at the end that that uh helps you with that. But basically it's it's a beautiful process, it's a beautiful community um in church. And, you know, you got to find the one you resonate with. Even a priest will tell you that. But it's like uh, you know, if you get it right, it's it's amazing, uh, just from my own experience. Um, you know, and I've also found it really helpful to finally see, you know, the battle in this way, right? At least to know that the Catholic Church is available to anyone who wants to join the ranks. They're not gonna not let you join. Um and it's also been very helpful to look at situations in life as possibly being related to this mostly hidden real battle against these malevolent forces, right? Um, it helps not to be uh, you know, quick to judge, you know, and get into it with a physical person before first considering what might be influencing them or you, you know, and then try, you know, a deliverance prayer, like the book I'm gonna show you by Father uh Chad Ripper, which, you know, you know, in this, you know, this book that I love and that I read every morning and every night, these morning prayer and this evening prayer for protection, essentially, um, from bad dreams and attacks at night. Um, but you know, it's it's helpful to address problems from that possibility, as well as somebody's just, you know, struggling or messed up in some way. Um, and like it said in the Quran, which I I love this this quote in there and this part of it, it's that if you win, if you win the internal jihad, which is defined as a struggle to live out your faith internally. We we all struggle to live out our uh our beliefs and our resolutions, if you will, right? And that's all that that means. It's the the the the way Muhammad taught it was that the jihad is this struggle to be better, better person. And if you can do that and you win that, then you'd never have to fight an external jihad, meaning you don't have to defend your faith uh from attacks from someone else. So I think that's pretty profound. Right. In other words, if we, you know, again, if we if we you know beat the war against the devil or win the war against the devil internally, then we won't have to fight each other. Because that's what they're trying to get us to do anyway, to keep us vulnerable and keep us feeling guilty and all this kind of stuff. And in shamanism, we understand the same thing, right? The victim, perpetrator, rescuer, trap, it's all the same six painful experiences, whether you do it to someone else, it's done to you, or you witness it. Everybody feels the pain of it, and nobody really likes it, right? And don't necessarily feel um guilt, you know, feel good about it. They feel guilt and shame and judgment. So, you know, um, that's the reason the church was created as a military organization to essentially win the war against the devil by doing all the prayers, good works, good deeds, all the rituals, and everything they suggest, you know, essentially just like just like the military. Um, you know, for me, this is where all the science, philosophy, shamanism, and other spiritual practices I've I've engaged in for the over 50 years basically converge. You know, it it it all it all came right back to the Catholic Church that my soul was born into the first in the first place, which I find interesting having all these death experiences when I was young and so on, and and even at birth. And, you know, which basically held me, you know, if if you know, if not consciously, it certainly held me, if not simply through the daily prayers of my mom, you know, and her friend uh who became a nun, who became Mother Superior Rose Therese of the Carmelite uh nuns and um sisters and you know, who prayed for me every day since before I was born until the day she died and probably still is. So, you know, um that could be a lot of reason why I survived a lot of things. Um, I realize, you know. Um but you know, just like I feel science converges in the unified field theory, for example, right? And equation as represented by the work of Nasim Harriman, one of my favorites, you know. Um, if you follow some of my old stuff about that, I think he's kind of solved this lifelong, you know, unified field theory problem of physics, you know. I feel like the Catholic Church is kind of like my spiritual unified field equation. Like it contains everything, including my shamanism, which is just kind of what blew my mind recently is kind of figuring that out and writing, you know, like I said, I've written a couple of articles about it. Um, you know, so I'll conclude by saying, you know, that my experience of the Catholic Church has been one of non-judgment, allowing, welcoming truly, of all, you know, diversity and all faiths, and really an incredibly comprehensive approach, you know, and and though the rules seem strict, the practices are rooted in the teachings of Jesus, you know, about tolerance, forgiveness, gratitude, and unconditional love. Um, you know, individuals may vary in their own approach as part of the church and even disagree with various parts of the doctrine and criticize, you know, where its members have fallen short and so on. And I've not found perfection in anything I've ever explored, studied, or practiced, or belonged to anyway, right? So, you know, and certainly not myself, right? So, you know, there's always a part of every organization, no matter what uh that men particularly struggle, and women, but struggle with, and um, it can it can give the organization a bad appearance in some cases, but it's not the majority of it. And the church is no different. And so the church, you know, to me, offers an amazing, you know, space for doing our internal internal work and for becoming a better part of the community at large. Um, it's really an inside job at first. You know, when I went back to church, it wasn't about all the people and all the stuff going on. Because I read this book, I'm gonna share with you, it was like, ah, I get it. I'm dropping in. This is my session. This is my opportunity to cleanse in this community and the power of more than one person gathered in the in the same prayers, the sort of resonance, uh, exponentially power, exponential power that that creates in a group and so on and so forth. Man, I I just I just love it. Um so, so the book uh that I've been referring to, right, is the is this one. It's the the Catholic Order of the Holy Mass, um, a complete guide with prayers, response, step-by-step instructions for newcomers and those rekindling their practice. And it's just like, in this book, it's like nice large print, and they even have like little barcodes where you get coloring books for children and stuff. And this is like, I wish I had this when I was a kid. It would have changed everything about my understanding. Um, so you know, that's worth it no matter what. Um, you know, um it really did make a huge difference in truly understanding what was going on in mass and really like getting the most out of it. Um, and I just remembered how much fun I had listening uh to the priest's story of mass a couple of weeks ago, a few weeks ago now, about when when Jesus came in to the through the locked door to speak to the apostles after his resurrection. And, you know, the very first words out of his out of his mouth were, uh, peace be with you. Right. And it this is where it gets interesting because I have a lot of fun, very passionate, very animated, and I hear these things and I go, you're like, what was that probably really like in that moment? Like, here are all these guys, you know, and and Mary Magdalene sitting around going, you know, kind of bummed out, Jesus is, you know, was crucified, and uh all of a sudden, right, he comes walking in through the front door, locked door, you know, glowing like a light bulb all lit up. And um, and so they're probably freaking out. And so, of course, he's like, uh, hey, chill out. It's cool, be cool, you know, be at peace. Peace be with you. Like, it's gonna be all right. Just relax. Um, so that always makes me laugh. I I'm I'm always listening in church, like taking notes, writing down, oh, that makes sense. Oh, that's cool, you know. I I love that part of it. Um so, you know, and it and it reminded me of the way the shamans, you know, would say, you know, why go up and down in the choppy waves on the surface of the water when you can just a few feet below be perfectly still. You know, it's the way hydrofoils work, right? Um so it's great wisdom teaching. It's like, you know, be cool. It'll you know, it'll all work out. Um, so I have a lot of fun in church. Uh and it and it reminds me of the way the Carol are, uh, to be honest. The Carol shamans, all the time I spent with them in Peru, middle of like really intense ceremonies, beautiful ceremonies, despachos, and all the things they do. And, you know, they they're joking around all the time during it. And the priests joke around in church, one of the things I love. You know, they they take the work very seriously, but not themselves. So I always feel great after mass because, you know, I'm in there kind of really um looking looking into it deeply. But um, you know, so it's it's uh often a lot of smiles and a lot of laughter, uh, and and with the rest of the conver congregation and the clergy. So, you know. I look back now, and and in fact, I can attribute a lot of my extended family's outrageous, outrageous sense of humor and character. And I I attribute it largely to the Catholic upbringing. I I now see how a lot of My uncles and cousins and grandparents, man, they were a hoot. And it was just like that in church. And uh it was, it was really good. I get it now. I really get it now. Um, so so basically, you know, no matter what's happening in your world, may peace be with you, right? And if you're having, you know, bad dreams or a bunch of funky things that keep happening to you or around you, you know, then you know, start, you know, maybe start with the way I did with reading daily prayers and the evening prayer from, you know, like this book. This is one I was talking about, Chad Ripper, Deliverance Prayers uh for use by the laity. You know, and he's got a lot of stuff in here. Like this is an exorcist. So he's got like the hardcore stuff in here. But in the back, you know, it's got it's got daily prayers. They're really short. And at the end of the day, it's got a prayer to say, you know, before you go to bed. And it's that, you know, this is it. And um it's made a huge difference. Made a huge difference. It's it's it's changed my um experiences at night largely. So I I recommend that. Um, you know, or, you know, next time you're near a Catholic church, just go on in. Have a conversation with the priest or whoever's there, like literally ask anything. Hey, man, what's up here? What's what's this all about? Why does the church do that? What about this? What about that? Like anything and everything, because they that's their job. Their job is to just like answer the questions. And I know the one in my local, local seminary that I go to here and and is like uh so cool. It's a cool guy to talk to. Um, you know, or uh, you know, if you're not comfortable doing that, then this is why I created this, this very toss life guide. I don't know how well you can see that, but you know, it's it's a little web-based app, and you get on there and you just type in a question. You know, you can see some example questions down there, um, you know, but really anything, and then it'll boom, it'll give you this like amazing answer. Blows my mind every time. It's like amazing coaching. And you can save them and you could do things. It's got a, it's got like, you know, a seven-day plan, things to do. It it gives you answers um also associated with um other traditions to back it up, you know, to say it's not that that ties into the common threads book that I just wrote myself, uh, you know, and the whole point there was basically to take my whole life where I've always looked for, hey, if it's true here and there, maybe it's true. If it's different, maybe it's man's idea of things. So I wrote this book. Okay, common threads, right? The search for universal truths, discovering the hidden unity and all spiritual paths. And it's like a Venn diagram of where they all meet, and then like the Catholic at the center, because of the there's a comprehensiveness to that in and of itself, as well as um how it uh it's so similar to shamanism in that it's the ritual and the and the the sort of incarnation aspect of it, that it's made like very tangible. So I like it. I hope you like it. And uh it comes in, you know, all the things Kindle, uh, audiobook. Um yeah, so check that out, share it, re put reviews on Amazon if you can for me, you know how that goes. Uh I've never cared so much about anything I've written than this. So this one I really feel is uh, like I said, it's my magnum opus. This is this is my life's work all culminating, you know. Um yeah, one other thing that I just realized uh the other day, too, kind of related to the way I'm always thinking, like, how do these things fit? So, you know, in in Catholicism, you you do the sign of the cross in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, right? So it's basically like Father, Son, Holy Spirit. And I realized, again, this is just how I like, like, I like things making sense to me. So I put this together that, oh, you know, you're pointing to your third eye or your brain, however you want to look at it, your vision. And it's like saying, God is here. God is here in my head. God is my vision, which in the Kara tradition, the East, it's, you know, may your vision be aligned with with great spirits. So it's it's basically saying, May my vision, my thoughts be that of God's. God is here in my head helping me do that, right? And then the sun, the third, the third chakra, the solar plexus, that's saying, this is where our gut intuition is, our guidance, right? So that's saying, and may Jesus's life and teachings and presence be my guidance, be part of my intuition, part of my gut. May it be colored by or filtered by Jesus, right? Which can't go wrong. It's like, it's good stuff. It was good teachings. Um, you know, like I said, very comprehensive and very real. Like he, I've always said this, he's got the street cred. Like, if you're trying to get something done, you can call on all kinds of other things, but Jesus will get it done. And then his mother Mary is like a whole nother level. She's the one that's been given the sort of job to to crush the head of Satan. So she's like in charge of that, that part, which I find, which I love, the ultimate general. Um and then the Holy Spirit. Well, where are you pointing to? Your lungs. So I want God in my head, I want Jesus' guidance in my guidance in my gut, and I want the Holy Spirit of breath filling my lungs. My I want my breath, like uh my friend Reverend Dale Allen Hoffman would say, the Aramaic scholar. You know, he always starts his talk by, are you breathing or are you being breathed? Right? So is spirit breathing you. And it's like, that's kind of what you want. And in the in the jungles and the Amazon, doing ayahuasca journeys and all that stuff, uh, as part of our shamanic training way back in the day. We were taught to use breath to blow away the negative visions or negative stuff, or, you know, whatever you're trying to shed or clear in addition to purging, you know, the purgatory. But that's the that's the deal, breath. So in the name of the Father, God here, Jesus here, the Son, and Holy Spirit, minding myself with ritual, with movement, which is uh, you know, shamanically we know enters the mythic subconscious domain, not just enough to think about it. Um, it's powerful. I love it. That makes a lot more sense to me. And now I really feel I know what I'm doing. Um so I've always done that. I remember when I was a kid, I rewrote the Our Father in a way that I thought really made more sense and it matched very much the Aramaic translation. Um, but now I can say it normally and I I get it. I don't have to mess with the way we say it in church or in the rosary. Um so I think I think that's pretty much it. Um, you know, uh, like I said, there's my book. I recommend this one highly for day-to-day and just kind of keeping yourself uh clear and in your power. And then if you're interested in going to Catholic Mass, this is the one you want to check out. Um I think you have all my, you know, links. You can find them, you know, the very toss lifeguide.app, and then, you know, Amazon has the books and um common common threadsproject.com and common threadsproject.app are are an app and and website that have everything to do with the book. So there's there's ways to do this. Uh so anyway, thank you for uh listening. I I hope you appreciate it. Um and I have um, you know, I've I've put uh I've I use um AI to make like this is an article actually that I just essentially read to you out of my website, um thesoulalgorithm.com. And you um, you know, so you can read it word for word there. But um and also I've done a few things on my podcasts and on my YouTube channel. I always do like short versions and animated versions and all this kind of stuff. So enjoy it any way you um you want to. And I hope it's been helpful and thank you.
